COLIN Keane’s bid to regain his jockey’s title has been gathering some momentum lately and his latest double pushed him on to the 60-winner mark for the season and left him eight behind Shane Foley who had led by twice that margin at the beginning of the month.

Keane completed his brace on the Matthew Smith-trained Son Of Hypnos (8/1) in the 50-80 rated mile-and-a-half handicap. This Morpheus gelding was shrugging aside a 6lb rise for winning at Galway last week and did so under totally different conditions. The improving three-year-old, who is owned by the trainer’s father Kevin, reached the line a length and a quarter ahead of Galeola and looks like one who could further add to his tally this autumn.
