PUNCHESTOWN played host to a fitting conclusion of the National Hunt season in Ireland, with the opening day of this year’s festival dominated by one man: Willie Mullins.

The master of Closutton won all three Grade 1 contests on the opening day as well as two other races for good measure to claim a sparkling 1,875-1 five-timer.
