She looked to appreciate the searching early gallop set by Irish raider We’ll Go Walking and ground out a win in a race where she just had to keep going to score clearly as the final half mile took 50.13 seconds in the yielding ground. Last year, Pomology showed that she could also shine in a sprint finish when taking the Prix de Pomone, a race where the final three furlongs took just 34.10 seconds. Clearly she’s versatile and has pace as well as stamina - even if she does lack a little in the acceleration department.

The next race for Pomology is likely to be the Yorkshire Oaks. If she fails to crack it at Group 1 level there, I’d like to see her tackle the Park Hill as the longer distance would suit her ideally on physique, pedigree and the way she runs.
