THE Meadows Equestrian Centre in Lurgan is setting a precedent this year as it has invested heavily in the health and safety aspect of the equestrian centre. The centre, which hosts amateur, schools and professional competitions, has announced a series of continuous improvements to their facilities, of which health and safety is at the forefront.

Demonstrating the ever growing awareness of the paramount importance of riders’ well-being, with a specific focus on the rising concern of concussion among young riders, the centre confirmed the permanent position of resident paramedic Paul Hardy. The resident paramedic will attend all shows and events and has use of a brand new fully equipped on-site First Aid Unit and the support of a team of trained first-aid personnel who work at every event.
