Although my parents had no direct involvement, both my aunts on my father’s side were very active in point-to-pointing and show jumping.

As a child of seven or eight, I remember following the exploits of Irish stars such as Eddie Macken, Capt. Con Power, Paul Darragh, James Kernan and Gerry Mullins. It was not until later years that the racing bug really took hold, but since it did, I have been addicted.
