HAVING suffered a potentially serious head injury in a fall at Tramore in August, I have been working hard on my fitness over the last few weeks, in preparation for a return to race riding sometime in 2015.

It was, as they say, ‘love at first sight’ when at only eight months old I set sight on our neighbour Jack Bell’s horses. My mother would often say, “it’s not from the stones she’s got it” as each evening I wailed to be taken to see them. My father loved racing and always had syndicates when I was growing up. It was a household where racing was always the conversation and weekly trips to the races were normal. We regularly visited Eric McNamara’s, Austin Leahy’s and the Finns, admiring my father’s horses.
