TATTERSALLS wouldn’t be quite the same without a win from William Fox-Pitt, and having narrowly missed out the previous day, the British legend was both relieved and delighted to secure the Eventing Ireland CCI3*-L with his own and the Glen family’s eight-year-old Georgisaurus.

As he had done in the earlier Cooley Farms CCI2*YH-L, Fox-Pitt had led from flag fall on his first phase score of 20.5, and once again needed to show jump clear to land the prize. This time around however, and aiming for a fifth victory in the class, he achieved it, as the impressive son of Caretino Glory never looked like touching a pole.
