SHE had to wait until the final moments, but in an edge of seat finale and for the second year in succession, Izzy Taylor took home the spoils in The Irish Field CCI4*-L at Tattersalls International Horse Trials.

The British rider, who this year partnered the inexperienced PSH Gazelle, had opened in a lowly 11th place, before both fate and fortune landed her the prize. She rose to third spot overnight and with less than a fence separating the top five, and produced one of just six clear rounds to edge past both leader Will Coleman, and second placed Michael Owen.
