THE cross-country table bank overlooking the working hunter ring at the Tattersalls July Show was the place to be on Saturday if you were an interested spectator with time on your hands and a well-packed picnic to enjoy.

There was never going to be anything ordinary about a course at this venue and the first fence of a tree trunk under rustic poles caught even some of the open horses by surprise as it came off the corner and was alongside the ‘viewing area’.
