THE final session of the 2018 Tattersalls July Sale was held after racing on Friday and produced two of the sale highlights, and in consecutive lots. The Jamie Railton-consigned Lethal Steps, formerly with Ger Lyons and latterly with Andrew Balding, heads back to Ireland to join the stable of Gordon Elliott.

The purchase docket was signed by Mags O’Toole on behalf of the Meath handler but she revealed that a hurdling career, as many might expect, is not on the agenda presently for the son of Lethal Force. The three-year-old caught the attention of many when he finished fourth in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
