AGAINST the continuing backdrop of the ongoing Covid pandemic, Tattersalls this week staged their annual Craven Breeze Up Sale. At the end of two sessions of lively trade, and a hugely respectable clearance rate of 88%, the aggregate reached a seven-figure total for the seventh time in the sale’s history.

Figures alone will not tell the full story of the sale, and average and median numbers of 86,021gns and 68,000gns respectively might look ordinary enough when compared with the record sale of 2017. Then the corresponding figures were 144,082gns and 110,000gns.
