TATTERSALLS’ Cheltenham May Sale concluded with a satisfactory set of results; five lots fetching £100,000 or more. This reflected the catalogue for the sale, not matching last year when five lots made £200,000 or more and 11 lots made a six-figure sum. This had a detrimental effect on the aggregate and average, down 34% and 27% respectively, while the median made a slight forward move.

Last year Stuart Crawford sold The Very Man at this sale for £210,000 but this time he was able to top the sale when Largy Fix, a four-year-old son of Notnowcato, sold for £170,000 to Mags O’Toole.
