ANDY Slattery does a good job with a limited number of flat horses and he said: “We are having a good year and we’d have around a dozen or so in. Most of them have held their form well and the flat horses that we have are generally ones that failed to sell at the breeze-up sales for one reason or another, but we are delighted to get them.

“I find flat racing a bit easier than the jumping game. There are more options for the horses and there is nearly a fixture every day. If you have a good jumping horse, there are only three fixtures per week during the winter and finding opportunities for those horses isn’t easy.
