THE victory of Quick Grabim in a bumper at Leopardstown augurs well for rookie trainer Robbie McNamara who has some smart bumper horses to run this year. Most of them are unraced four-year-olds and they, along with the rest of his string, are based at his yard which is just a short drive from Newbridge in Co Kildare.

“I have 36 horses but we have room for more,” he explained but added: “I wouldn’t like to get much bigger in the short term. A lot of trainers are struggling to get good riders, but I am lucky in that I am friendly with a lot of them and they come in and ride out for me which is great.
