The Derby Sale was shorn of many potential high profile lots who were sold elsewhere as a consequence of the two postponements that led to the auction eventually taking place in August
When the sale came to a close, the aggregate had dropped by 10% to just under €9.5m. This was the first time since 2015 that the September Sale’s turnover has fallen below €10m
The sale posted an aggregate of just under €3.8 million, a 5% drop on last year. The average of €8,285 was down by 12 points, the median matched last year at €5,500 with the clearance rate at 68%.
The top price of €80,000 is the best return from this sale for four years and the €60,000 paid for the leading filly was the best price achieved by a filly at this sale since 2010
