RIDERS and spectators alike basked in sunshine as some of the country’s top showing ponies gathered for the annual IPS Limerick/Clare area two-day show at Limerick racecourse over the June bank holiday weekend.

Competitions got under way on Saturday morning with over 60 classes for Tom O’Donnell to compere over. The working hunter ring was again in the charge of John Fitton, who gave competitors some interesting challenges over his workers’ track. The Party Time Ltd Champion of Champions came from the Show Pony Champion Sharlen Gone with the Wind giving Amber Marnane victory for the third year in a row on the chesnut gelding with Wexfords Jessica Murphy on her Balmoral winner Trewolla Truffles taking reserve.
