DON Pedro, who finished third once in four runs as a three-year-old when trained by Michael Halford for Godolphin, got his head in front at Wexford Equestrian on Tuesday evening when winning the NutriScience thoroughbred class in the hands of David Richard.

Now six, the US-bred Don Pedro was lying second (27.8) after the Jillie Rogers-judged dressage phase and was left in front when the early leader, the Claire Farrell-owned and ridden Renneti lowered one of the coloured poles to finish second (31.5). Third in the nine-runner class was the mare Natures Blossom (32) who recorded one of five clear rounds.
