Derby wager: Order of St George (30-pace adjusted 37) ran away with a mile maiden at Leopardstown on soft ground. He went further and further away up the straight to score by over eight lengths, covering the last three furlongs in 37.19 seconds, 1.2 seconds faster than the Group 3 Desmond Stakes. Order Of St George is clearly built and bred for a mile and a half. However, this run was borderline Group 1 class for a two-year-old over a mile, so I can see him winning something very decent in the near future. Next year he will surely be running in the Derby. The 33/1 available about him for that race looks rather too big to me.
