THE Irish Pony Club officially announced this week that Connolly’s Red Mills, Foran Equine plus Carr & Day & Martin will once again sponsor the IPC eventing league and Championships for 2023.

The first qualifier is being hosted by the Wexford Branch tomorrow, Sunday, at The Kennels in Moorefields where there is an 8.30am start for the dressage phase in five of the seven arenas. The series continues right through the summer months culminating in the Championship finals, by kind permission of Tattersalls Ireland, over the weekend of August 26th and 27th. The Eventing Championships cater for IPC members who are in their 10th year up to their 21st year.

Ivan Hatton, the IPC’s Chairperson of Eventing, stated: “We are delighted to announce that Connolly’s Red Mills has again agreed to be the main sponsor of our qualifiers and Championships. Connolly’s Red Mills has deep ties to the IPC, and to the equine industry worldwide, and we thank them most sincerely for their very generous sponsorship. I wish all IPC members the very best of luck at the qualifiers in the coming months.”

Jane Davis, Head of Equine, Connolly’s Red Mills said: “Connolly’s Red Mills, along with our sister brands Foran Equine and Carr & Day & Martin are delighted to sponsor the Irish Pony Club eventing championships.

“It is a partnership that we are very proud of, and we are delighted to be able to show our support and thanks to the members nationwide. Nutrition and grooming play such a vital role when caring for all the incredible ponies and horses that mean so much to their families, our ethos is to put the animal at the centre of everything we do, our products are designed to nourish, support and care for your horses.

“We are looking forward to a very competitive and exciting season. We wish all competitors the very best of luck and we look forward to meeting many of them over the course of the summer.”

Connolly’s Red Mills have kindly agreed that the thoroughbred retraining and rehoming charity Treo Eile can run a league for thoroughbred horses in conjunction with the eventing series as well as repeating their sponsorship of the highest-placed thoroughbred at the Championships in August.

To earn league points (which will be in-line with those for the Connolly’s Red Mills series), members must first ensure that their thoroughbreds are registered, for free, with Treo Eile, they should have a Weatherbys or equivalent racing authority passport (which must be available for checking at each qualifier and at the Championships) and they must be entered under the name as per passport. For further details, see the Treo Eile website.
