MANY congratulations to Leila Byrne, a former member of the Ward Union Branch of the Irish Pony Club, who recorded her first win on the racecourse last Wednesday week when landing the ladies’ bumper at Bellewstown by 10 lengths on Is She Real.

The Yeats filly, who had finished second on her only previous start in a four-year-old point-to-point maiden at Tattersalls Ireland in May, is trained by John McConnell for whom Leila rides out in the mornings before attending to his accounts, etc in the afternoons.
