Queen Mother Champion Chase hero Special Tiara could bid for a third victory in the Unibet Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton on Wednesday.

Henry de Bromhead's stable stalwart claimed this Grade 2 prize in 2014 and again 12 months ago before securing his career-defining success at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The 10-year-old finished third behind Fox Norton on his seasonal reappearance in last month's Shloer Chase and is one nine entries for Kempton's feature event on December 27th.

De Bromhead could also saddle Ordinary World, who has won just once from six starts over fences, but has been placed five times including runner-up finishes at Grade 1 level twice last season.

Paul Nicholls is ready to send Politologue into battle less than three weeks after his triumph in the Tingle Creek at Sandown.

The Kerry Lee-trained Gino Trail could also make a swift return following a recent handicap success at Cheltenham. The Presteigne-based trainer can also call on Top Gamble, who was runner-up to Un De Sceaux in the Hilly Way Chase at Cork last time out.

Brian Ellison's Forest Bihan, Dan Skelton's Optimus Prime, the Nicky Henderson-trained Theinval and Vaniteux from David Pipe's yard complete the potential field.

The other Grade 2 prize on offer on a six-race card is the 32Red.com Wayward Lad Novices' Chase. Despite the race being reopened for 24 hours there are just six contenders, with Nicholls responsible for three in Cyrname, Dolos and Tommy Silver.

The other hopefuls are Skelton's Shantou Rock, Mark Gillard's Kostaquarta and The Unit, trained by Alan King.
