KILINDINI bought as a yearling to go to Hong Kong, ran out a decisive winner of the Cape Guineas at Kenilworth last Saturday despite being beaten at odds-on in a handicap last time.

The race was marred, and to some extent decided, by the slow pace and the time of 1m 39.83 sec was the slowest the Guineas has seen in the past nine years, but Corne Orfffer made the most of it, sending the 8/1 chance to the front two and a half furlongs out and shooting three lengths clear. He still had a length and three-quarters to spare at the line.
