AFTER the huge blow of losing star sprinter Sceptical on the gallops on Tuesday, trainer Denis Hogan had a measure of compensation with a double at Sligo’s jumps card on Wednesday.

The 11/8 favourite Bua Boy had been Hogan’s final winner in the saddle at Galway and followed up under Donagh Meyler in the Kevin Egan Cars Handicap Hurdle. The Doyen gelding, in the colours of the Katie & Brian Castle Partnership, was up in trip by half a mile and, although pushed along a fair way from home, he responded well to lead after the last and defeat Insane Bolt by two and a quarter lengths.
