Sir Isaac Newton will break from stall nine when he bids to provide Aidan O'Brien with his first victory in the BMW Caulfield Cup on Saturday.

The master of Ballydoyle secured his 20th top-level flat success of 2016 when Churchill clinched the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday and with Qipco Champions Day at Ascot and the Breeders' Cup to come, he has a chance of breaking American trainer Bobby Frankel's long-standing record of 25 Grade 1 victories in a calendar year.

Sir Isaac Newton will also add to the tally if striking gold down under this weekend.

The Galileo colt won the Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 International Stakes over 10 furlongs at the Curragh back in June and has since run with credit in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Juddmonte International.

He was unable to make his presence felt in last month's Irish Champion Stakes, but nevertheless heads to Australia with strong claims. Colm O'Donoghue takes the ride.

Sir Isaac Newton features in a maximum field of 18 runners plus two reserves.

The only other European challenger is the Charlie Appleby-trained Godolphin runner, Scottish, the mount of Kerrin McEvoy.

The four-year-old was last seen winning the Strensall Stakes at York in August and is drawn close to Sir Isaac Newton in gate seven.

Recent Irish-bred Group 1 winner Sir John Hawkwood is drawn five.

Caulfield Cup favourite Jameka has drawn barrier 13 for Saturday's $3 million race.

The four-year-old is one of three horses being prepared for the 2,400m contest by Ciaron Maher, who will also saddle up Pemberley (17) and Set Square (20).

Jameka rose in Cup markets following her impressive win in the Naturalism Stakes and a last-start second to Hartnell in the Turnbull Stakes.

The home team includes Exospheric (stall three), formerly known as Exosphere.

The Beat Hollow colt, who won the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket and was fifth in the Juddmonte International when trained by Sir Michael Stoute, makes his debut for Lee and Anthony Freedman.
