I GUESS that if you are reading this week’s Time Will Tell, you need little convincing that horse racing is one of the greatest pastimes in the world (though something called hurling may be even better, according to my recent Twitter timeline).

“The Great Triviality” (as Phil Bull termed it) can be enjoyed both cerebrally and viscerally, invokes great highs and sometimes great lows, and maintains a healthy respect for its past without selling short its present or future.
