EUROPEAN raiders have a good chance of bringing home quite a bit of prize money from this weekend’s Breeders’ Cup, run at Keeneland in Kentucky.

In time terms, Legatissimo (119 timefigure, in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket) and Golden Horn (127 in the Derby at Epsom) measure up very well to the standard likely to be required in the Filly & Mare Turf and Turf respectively, but there are some strong supporting acts, too. Special mention is also made of Time Test, whose 122 figure at Royal Ascot came with a very fast closing sectional. The Roger Charlton-trained colt is up against several high-class rivals in the Mile but may not be so inconvenienced by a draw in stall 12 as imagined given how strong the pace seems likely to be inside him.
