IN what was a good period for quality two-year-old fillies, in Britain, France and Ireland, Pretty Gorgeous deserves high praise for the manner of her win in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes at the Curragh last Saturday.

She not only beat Shale and Mother Earth by two and a half lengths and the same, she did it in a smart time, fully 1.15s (around six lengths on what was soft ground) quicker than recorded by Mac Swiney in winning the Futurity Stakes a bit later on.
