MOST of the racing talk at this time of the year inevitably revolves around the Cheltenham Festival, but there are also not all that many sleeps left until All-Weather Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday, March 25th, or Dubai World Cup Day at Meydan on the following day.
Slots for the former are filling up steadily, with Captain Joy winning the first Fast-Track Qualifier of the winter at Dundalk a week ago. The race was a slowly-run affair, and the Tracey Collins-trained seven-year-old had to sprint the last three furlongs in 33.3s to prevail by half a length (timefigure of just 42).
