TIME comparisons were particularly helpful in making sense of the form of some of the races at the Curragh on Friday week, and speak quite well of the shock winner of the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes, New Treasure, but far less well of the Group 3 Flame of Tara Stakes winner, Divinely.

The former ran the six furlongs a good deal quicker than did the older handicapper Tresorier a short while later, and in efficient style (103.5% finishing speed, which is only a little quicker than par). That translates into a 105 sectional rating: not as good as a Ten Sovereigns (111-rated winner in 2018) or U S Navy Flag (112 in 2017), but just about up to scratch for a Group 3 juvenile.
