MUCH of the fuss at Kempton was, understandably, around Redicean’s and Global Citizen’s efforts, but there were a couple of other winning performances there of note.

Firstly, Cyrname ran another quick time for a novice when landing the Pendil Novices’ Chase by 11 lengths and with a 150 timefigure. His career-best 154 came in winning at two miles at this course over Christmas and in coming second to Terrefort at two and a half miles in between. It should be noted that neither was foot-perfect here nor at all quick in the closing stages having set a strong gallop.
