THERE were some good, and some not so good, efforts on the clock in the various other races during the period under review, but one in particular stands out as totally out of the ordinary. That was the win of Kachy in a minor event at Chester last Friday.

Given the other times on the card, and on the preceding two days, breaking 60.0s for the extended five furlongs around a bend seemed improbable, but Kachy managed it with 0.45s to spare, from the outermost stall, with a degree of comfort, and with nine lengths in hand over the smart Growl.
