IF you judge Royal Ascot 2015 by the crowds, the weather, the international quality of the racing, the fashion and the general feelgood vibe, it was an unequivocal success.

If you judge it by the time performances put up by most of the two-year-old winners, it was the same. But if you judge it by the time performances of the older horse winners it came up a bit short, with one or two notable exceptions.
