THANKFULLY I am able to include the first day of the May Meeting at Chester on Wednesday as there were two very good classic trial winners.

Mehdaayih was up first, winning the Cheshire Oaks with a storming late run by four and a half lengths from Manuela De Vega. This should not have come as a huge surprise to clockwatchers given the alacrity the John Gosden-trained filly had shown in winning a match at Chelmsford the time before.
