THE jumps season never really ends and by the time you read this, there will have been National Hunt action somewhere in Britain or Ireland on every day of this week. The Galway Plate and Galway Hurdle are just a couple of months off.

Nonetheless, the Punchestown Festival, just gone, is an obvious point at which to take stock of the 2018/2019 jumps season, and to figure out what deserves to go where in any overview of it.
