THE two big juvenile races at Longchamp on Sunday were both at a metric mile and make for an interesting compare-and-contrast exercise.

The Qatar Prix Marcel-Boussac, won in good style by Albigna, ended up 2.89s (over 15 lengths) faster than the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, won by the unbeaten Victor Ludorum, though the difference was over 5.0s as late in the race as 400m from home.
