PUNTERS looking to have a bet in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, or any of its supporting races, this coming weekend would do well to familiarise themselves with the differences between Chantilly – where this year’s events will unfold – and the usual venue of Longchamp, which is undergoing reconstruction.

Chantilly has fewer undulations, though those which exist are mostly approaching the closing stages, while Longchamp’s come earlier. Both tracks have long runs to the first significant bend in races run at 2,400 metres, particularly Chantilly, where there seems little reason to anticipate a draw bias in the big race itself.
