THE Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour reached the halfway point at Bannow & Rathangan and leading the victory lap in the 1.35m were local rider Patrick Hickey and Quandurina, fastest of six clears in a time of 62.86 seconds. Hickey also picked up the leading young rider prize.

Last year’s champion, Paddy O’Donnell took second place with Ange Lynch’s Seefin Surprise (62.93) ahead of Francis Connors and the Noreen Jordan-owned Clarbelle (67.60). Placed second in the RDS young rider 1.35m qualifier in Barnadown, Emer Kavanagh was back in the ribbons taking fourth with MHS Tamara (69.22). In fifth were Tomas Doyle and Monbeg Thunderball B (70.38), and last of the clears in sixth was Isabel Fitzpatrick with Fourth of July (77.11).
