THE Northern Indoor Showjumping Championships at Eglinton proved to be a happy hunting ground for Co Down’s Dermott Lennon as he took first and second place in Sunday’s feature event, the Eglinton Grand Prix. Lennon rode to victory aboard his own Athletix Hero Z when he delivered the only double-clear round of the class, in 45.65 seconds.

Bred by Gerry Marron and Luc Henry, the nine-year-old gelding is by Aganix Du Seigneur out of the Class of Touch Hero-sired Radco D’Houtveld. Lennon has been campaigning the gelding on the European circuit at CSI3* level and has proved consistent at 1.40m level.
