WATERFORD’s Army rider Capt Geoff Curran and the Minister For Defence-owned Irish Sport Horse Glengarra Wood were crowned the 2020 Irish National Champions last Sunday at Portmore Equestrian. Curran takes the crown from Francis Connors and the Hugh Fitzpatrick-owned and bred Erne Ladygoldilocks.

Speaking after the win, Capt Curran said: “I was in a good position coming today. It’s a huge privilege to win the title, it’s been a long time since the Army Equitation School has won it.
