A FLAWLESS performance from Tipperary’s Shane Breen and Galway’s Michael Duffy helped Miami Celtics to a fantastic win in their home leg of the Global Champions League on Saturday at Miami Beach, Florida in the USA.

The Irish pair started the day in fourth place on six faults following Thursday opening round. When Breen (Ipswich van de Wolfsakker) and Duffy (Quintano), both jumped clear in the deciding round and the other teams around them started to pick up faults, Miami Celtics rose to the top of the leaderboard to secure a memorable victory.

The St Tropez Pirates' team, which included the Irish Sport Horse MHS Going Global, ridden by Athina Onassis (GRE), and Pieter Devos (Claire Z) finished second – just one fault behind the winners. Third place on the podium went to the Berlin Eagles' team of Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) and Emil Hallundbaek (DEN) on eight faults.
