LIMERICK's Shane Carey took victory in the main class at the three-star show in Herning in Denmark today.

The former Irish Army officer, who is now based in Denmark, rode the 10-year-old Contenance 15, owned by Adena Springs, to claim the competition ahead of his wife, Denmark’s Linnea Ericsson- Carey.

The maximum fence height in the competition, which counted for Longines World ranking points, was 1.45m.

Meanwhile in the USA, during the Horseware Ireland-sponsored Winter Equestrian Festival, Offaly's Darragh Kenny claimed second place in the Suncast $35,000 class. Kenny was riding Picolo, owned by Whiterock Farm, in the 1.50m class.
