THE Maximum Security story continues to deliver and the latest chapter was again a case of pure drama. The Kentucky-bred son of New Year’s Day, who was disqualified after passing the post first in the Kentucky Derby and went on to be crowned the champion three-year-old, took to the road and ended his recent odyssey in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with victory in the world’s richest race, the $20,000,000 Saudi Cup.

Breaking smartly from his favourite draw in seven under Luis Saez, the Jason Servis-trained four-year-old was never far away from the Pegasus World Cup winner Mucho Gusto, the pair stalking Capezzano and North America. When Mucho Gusto forged past the leaders Maximum Security quickly followed.
