AT the end of a dramatic 24 hours for Tattersalls Ireland the company’s flagship Derby Sale produced a top price of €160,000 during today’s solid opening session but the central theme of the day was the fact that most British buyers were prevented from attending the sale in person.

Despite the fact that they had been in attendance at Tattersalls Ireland throughout Monday and Tuesday it emerged last night that British buyers were to be barred from going to the actual sale when the Irish Government revoked the UK buyers' ‘business bubble’ due to increasing concerns surrounding the Delta variant of Covid-19.
