GO Bears Go could give the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale a timely boost with a good performance in Sunday’s Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes on Sunday.

The big race favourite was a £50,000 purchase last year at the sale, which was staged in Newmarket. This year’s sale will again be held in Park Paddocks and the catalogue was released online this week.

There are 488 horses in the two-day sale, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 21st and 22nd. The final 101 yearlings catalogued form Part 2 of the sale, which will follow immediately the conclusion of Part 1 on the second day.

Last year the sale ran for three days, with 447 catalogued for Part 1 and 183 in Part 2. In 2019 there were 481 lots in Part 1 and 253 in Part 2.

The 2021 catalogue features a half-brother to last year’s Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Gear Up, the Galileo Gold half-brother to Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes winner Star Of Emaraaty and the half-brother to Group 3 Musidora Stakes winner Shutter Speed.

Castlehyde Stud’s Lot 422 received a major update this week with the two-year-old half-brother Have A Good Day winning the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville.

Other blacktype performers with siblings in the Tattersalls Ireland catalogue include Pretty Perfect, Cimeara, Curly, Zacinto and Geometrical.

All yearlings catalogued will be candidates for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes which takes place at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend. As well as the big pot for purchasers, the vendor of the winning horse will win an Overlander two-stall horsebox.
