TATTERSALLS have had to increase their first auction of 2017 to two days, because the catalogue is considerably larger than last year’s for their February Sale, to be held at Park Paddocks on Thursday and Friday, February 2nd and 3rd. The 488 entries are 101 more than last February for this flat race auction and mainly comprises horses and fillies in training, though there will also be 43 broodmares and 31 yearlings.

There are quite substantial drafts of 57 from Godolphin and 15 from Juddmonte Farms. The entries include several blacktype winners. Before selling begins on Thursday, the Newmarket Sales Ring will be the scene for the TBA Stallion Parade at 10.45am.
