VENDORS met with mixed fortunes at Goresbridge last week where a solid trade for older horses was let down by an erratic demand for three-year-olds. There were big prices aplenty over the two days, but as buyers became increasingly selective, the clearance dipped accordingly. Overall, however, and despite the omission of the previously influential select sector of three-year-olds, the figures remained much in line with those of 12 months ago.
Both the older horses and the four-year-olds closed with clearance rates at around 65% (64% in 2018) leaving a final figure of 54% (2018) accompanied by an average of €3,608 (€3,647).
