A €100,000 colt from the first crop of Caravaggio held sway as the Goffs November Foal Sale got underway on Monday with a session whose returns were almost on a par with those from 12 months ago.

On a day where the number of lots to make at least €40,000 progressed from 11 to 13, the aggregate of €2.871 million represented an improvement of 7%. The average of €18,172 was marginally down on 2018 and the median dropped from €15,000 to €14,000, but the clearance rate made good progress to come in at 68% as opposed to 59% in 2018.
