JUST short of 600 lots have been catalogued for the Goffs February Sale. The three-day auction starts on Tuesday, February 8th.

The sale will begin with a selection of two-year-olds and horses in training followed by a yearling (born 2021) section of over 300 lots.

Derrinstown Stud drafts proved very popular at a number of sales in recent months and there are nine lots coming from Derrinstown to Goffs for this sale.

Other consignors of note include Aga Khan Studs, Godolphin, Baroda Stud, Irish National Stud, Oghill House Stud, The Castlebridge Consignment and a dispersal draft from the late Garrett Freyne.

Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said: “Following the vibrant foal and record breeding stock trade seen at the Goffs November Sale, demand for February Sale places was especially strong and has resulted in the sale being expanded to three days. This catalogue should hold huge appeal for domestic and international buyers alike.”

The two-year-old section includes a son of Invincible Spirit out of three-time listed winner Katla, and a filly by Dark Angel out of an own-sister to Group 2 winner Ertijaal.

Among the standouts in the yearling section are a Cotai Glory half-brother to Group 1 winner Champers Elysees, a Sea The Stars colt from the family of Lily’s Angel, a colt by Waldgeist out of a multiple listed-race winner, and a Night Of Thunder colt out of a sister to two Group 3 winners.

Five-time winners Advanced Virgo and Pulse Of Shanghai catch the eye in the horses-in-training section.

The full catalogue is now online.
