ARQANA staged its first ‘pop-up’ online sale this week which saw three of the five offered horses sold, generating €350,000 in turnover.

Offered in foal for the first time carrying to Zarak, Burkina Faso (by Mukhadram) topped the sale when sold to Anita Wigan for a sum of €185,000. The filly is a granddaughter of Shamardal and a half-sister to Group 2 winner Angel Power, from an Ammerland family.

Offered by Yannick Fouin after a winning debut on the flat at Nancy where he won by six lengths, Impaire Et Passe was sold for €155,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock. The son of Diamond Boy was trained by Yannick Fouin.

The breeding right to Belardo was bought for €9,500 by Outsider Bloodstock.

Bidding for Bonito Cavallo, a three-year-old gelding by The Grey Gatsby, stopped at €100,000. This horse has finished second on both his sole start on the flat and over hurdles.

Super Khali, a three-year-old colt by Shalaa, was unsold at €120,000. Rated 95, he has won his most recent two starts on the all-weather at Chantilly.

Arqana is planning similar mixed sales online for August 26th, October 13th, November 22nd and December 15th.
