IN the aftermath of Tiger Roll’s latest Grand National tour de force at Aintree last Saturday the diminutive yet hugely charismatic nine-year-old has been the deserved recipient of a myriad of plaudits having become one of the greats of Irish racing.

It could all have been so different though and perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Tiger Roll’s career – one in which the extraordinary has become routine – has been the way he somehow resurrected himself when it seemed as though all was lost.
